Recently, All Pro Media worked on the marketing for an exciting new project: Zombie Scarefest 2015. This event took place at the former Western Electric Plant in Burlington from October 7 through Halloween. The 22 acre venue was filled with zombies and other horrors throughout the Halloween season. Zombie Scarefest Owner and NASCAR Driver Donnie Neuenberger, along with his partner Todd Harper, worked tirelessly to accomplish this monumental task.
After 25 years of abandonment, the former Tarheel Missile/Western Electric Plant site was purchased by Donnie Neuenberger. A massive reconstruction is being planned for the site. However, before further development, Neuenberger and Harper decided to create a zombie haunted house experience like none other; Zombie Scarefest. The abandoned (and widely considered haunted) venue is creepy and spacious, the perfect location for a terrifying Halloween experience. Despite their hours of work organizing the event, Harper and Neuenberger insist that the job was a labor of love.
All Pro Media stayed plenty busy as well. The team created and placed multiple radio ads, took photos, managed Zombie Scarefest’s Facebook and Twitter pages, and created artwork. We also wrote the content and designed the layout for the Zombie Scarefest website. Social media was especially effective for this campaign. In less than three days, the Zombie Scarefest Facebook page had over 100 likes and thousands of impressions. By the end of the campaign (6 weeks later), Zombie Scarefest’s Facebook page had over 1,350 likes. Social media contests on the Facebook page gained a lot of attention. The contest posts encouraged sharing, so it helped the page attract new viewers and fans.
Working on this project with Donnie and Todd was a fantastic experience. “I think the event was pretty special,” said Neuenberger. “I have fallen in love with the old plant and thought it would be a great way to give it some exposure as we work toward re-developing this historic site.”
All Pro Media also shot a TV commercial for the project, which ran on AMC during The Walking Dead’s Sunday night premier one week prior to the event. This event was unlike any other haunted house in North Carolina and we immensely enjoyed this project!
