We are at the end of April and well into Spring. The weather grows warmer as our schedule swells with productions. The month of May has been our busiest since the beginning. Throughout the weekdays and weekends, you can see our staff hustling here and there. It’s a hectic pace to which we have grown accustomed. We love it, and wouldn’t change it.
Before our schedule swings into full force, we had to buy some needed equipment. We added a new tripod (Sachtler FSB 8 Fluid Head and Speed Lock Legs) and a new camera (JVC GY-HM620 ProHD). Each of these fill a gap for our upcoming live event schedule. Many of our shoots have our team spread across the area at different locations. So, each venue requires its own pack of equipment.
Sachtler FSB 8 Tripod, From Germany With Love
Sachtler is a well respected company from Germany, and they are known for their top quality tripods. The Sachtler FSB 8 makes us very happy. It’s lightweight for the 44 lb. payload it can hold, and the Speed Lock feature on the legs allows for fast height changes. The spreader is placed mid-level, and the overall support gives you a nice and firm tripod. It has become our primary set of sticks for all video productions.
The JVC GY-HM620 ProHD And Our Live Events
Live events require specific kinds of cameras. We need to be able to focus and zoom via hand controls, and send the HD signal to multiple monitors and a switcher at times. It then almost goes without saying that the camera also needs XLR audio inputs. We have always turned to JVC and their news/broadcast cameras to fulfill this need. The JVC GY-HM620 fits within the same frame of quality and reliability we have placed on our other camera models. It shoots Full HD at 60, 30 and 24 frames per second. Complete with XLR inputs, HDMI and HD-SDI Outputs and a 23x zoom, this camera rocks. It’s also now available in our rental arsenal. http://allpromedia.com/rentals/
Blessed, Thankful and Happy
We are blessed to be this busy and capable, and for that we are thankful. The weather also allows for our productions to take place outdoors when necessary. It’s always nice to get away from the confinements of an office and into the natural elements. There is never anything wrong with a little bit of sunshine on your face. We wish everyone a happy Spring!
